Droppings:

One of the most common signs of rodent infestation is droppings. Rodents leave behind small, dark-colored droppings that are about ¼ inch long. You may also find clusters of droppings near food sources or nesting areas. If you find any droppings in your home or business, it is important to clean them up immediately and contact a residential pest control company for assistance. 

Gnaw Marks:

Another sign of rodents is gnawed marks on furniture, walls, insulation, wiring, and other items around your home or office. Mice and rats like to chew on soft materials like wood and fabric, so look for gnaw marks that look like small chips or holes in these materials. Rats will also chew on electrical wiring which can be dangerous if left unchecked. 

Destroyed Food Sources:

Rodents will often eat through packaging and containers looking for food sources – if you notice any evidence of this type of behavior, you likely have a rodent infestation on your hands. 

Look for telltale signs such as chewed-through cardboard boxes or plastic storage containers with holes chewed into them; if your food source has been destroyed by rodents, throw it away immediately and contact a professional pest control technician as soon as possible to take care of the problem before it gets worse. 

Noises:

Rodents are nocturnal creatures so you may hear scratching or scurrying noises at night coming from walls or ceilings. You may also hear squeaking sounds from mice as they move around in search of food and nesting material.
