Step One: Identification

The first step to getting rid of rodents is knowing what kind you have in your home. Make sure all entry points into your house are properly sealed with caulk or weather stripping so that rodents cannot get inside; inspect windowsills, door frames, and foundations for any gaps that could let pests in; store food items such as pet food and birdseed securely; keep trash cans lidded tightly; and avoid leaving standing water anywhere near your house since this can attract pests looking for a place to drink or bathe.

Additionally, if possible reduce clutter both indoors and outdoors which can provide inviting nesting sites for rodents looking for a place to live!  By following these simple steps, you will increase the chances that rodents will stay away from your house!
